So, when are you going to look closer at your home city and attempt to tell everyone else about it in our City Notebooks?
We know you are more likely to want to tell everyone more about far flung cities that you have visited briefly and photographed with the latest duty free megapixel marvel than write about your own home.

Doesn’t really make sense does it?

When you think about it, there is so much you did not know about the city you visited, and so much you do know about your own.
So why not try to explain to others all the answers to questions you might have wanted to ask a local when you were in a foreign city.
Questions about public transport, accommodation, sightseeing attractions and historical facts to mention but a few.

Hotel Pennsylvania 401 7th Ave., Garment District, NY 10001 Manhattan (New York)

A busy Manhattan hotel across the street from Madison Square Garden and Penn Station.

The entrance was imposing and impressive on first visit and registering was like you had just entered customs at the airport with the ques guided in to the counter by seatbelt barriers.

The first impression was rapidly eroded when getting into the ancient lifts and finding our room outside the Rubbish wheelie bin room across the corridor.
The room was just the thing to ensure that we did not spend any more time in it than we needed to sleep and shower!

Anyway, with so much to see virtually on the doorstep we were kept out of the room as much as possible.

The BORDERS across the road is the best place to go to sit and get on the net via free WiFi while having a snack in comfort with a first floor view of the busy 7th Ave.
