For the rest of your travel it might be best to get a Eurail select pass
which is 5 countries

There are 5 days, 6 days, 8 days, 10 days, and 15 days in 2 months.

Prices are as below - we are able to offer you a saver pass because there
are 2 of you travelling together at all times.

5 days : $634.00
6 days : $689.00
8 days :$793.00
10 days :$897.00
15 days : $1140.00

Some of these trains will also require seat reservations so these will need
to be at added costs generally ranging from $18.00 - $32.00.

A $ 30.00 booking fee is generally also added to these bookings. Please

allows agents to view the status of their rail bookings via the rail plus

Whether it's checking seat confirmations, document dispatch, confirming
payments or viewing the most recent invoice received "My Bookings" will give
you the answers. Agents need to be registered on the Rail Plus web site to
be given access. For those agents not registered they can do so at

*All rates are quoted per person, AUD$, one way (double for return) unless
otherwise stated.
*If seat reservations are required or booking total is less than $300, a
booking fee of AUD $30.00 per file applies for online or web bookings,
$40.00 for phone bookings. Seat reservation charges in the UK are $21.00 per
sector. European seat reservations range from $17.00-$48.00 per sector on
normal trains.
High speed/Premier seat reservation rates can be higher.
*Some journeys may involve multiple sectors.
*Sleeper costs are per room for some trains and per person for others.

Following is a guideline as to when trains can be booked by Rail Plus in the
European Reservation System. This is subject to change without notice.
Eurostar - 120 days prior to trains departure
Premier trains (Thalys, French TGV, Teoz, Lunea, Italian Pendalino, Artesia,
Spanish AVE, Cisalpino, German ICE, Talgo Day) 90 days prior to trains
departure date.
Regional trains Europe - 6 to 8 weeks prior to trains departure date.
UK trains - 6 to 8 weeks prior to trains departure date
The above is a guide only as it is entirely up to the local Britrail and
European Railway companies as to when they load the train into the system.
There are occasions where they won't load it at all and you will have to
reserve the train locally in Europe. We are unable to go direct to the
railways to find out when a train will or won't be loaded.

Request: My husband and I wish to take a one way only Fast train from Paris
to London on Friday 24th October 2008,

and after staying a week, take a one way only train from London to Venice
via:

Calais-France, Lille to Brussels-Belgium,

then through Germany: Aachen, Cologn, Bonn, Koblenz, Frankfurt, Manheim,

to Basel-Switzerland, Bern to Milano-Italy, Verona, arriving at Venice.

We have studied brouchur maps and time tables, terms and conditions but are
still unsure of the total costs involved including discounts etc. I belive a
Point-Point double ticket should do this limited to a five day total travel
time inside two months period allowing some stops along the way - say in
Brussels, Germany somewhere, Basel, Milan.

Is this correct, and can you help in planning this so we can forward book
when suitable for our timing?

We need to resolve this to arrange our flight bookings soon.

Looking forward to your response on this, and great to see an Aussie company
so well entrenched in this area of expertise.
